Coming into last night's RAW, I really wasn't looking forward to the draft. I think the draft has lost it's impact through the years. (I have a solution to this. Which I will hit later in the article.) I figured no big names will be moving this year. Most of the names are already on RAW and there is no point moving a big star on a big show to a smaller show.- Boy was I wrong. Starting with the first pick, John Cena moved from RAW to SMACKDOWN. Cena the biggest superstar in the company on the move. What a surprise. But think about should any of us have been surprised. I am sure we all have seen the ending of RAW or have read about what happened. If you haven't Cena got drafted back to RAW. We should have known that something was going to happen. It just isn't a smart business move to move your biggest star from the biggest show.
- Probably the biggest surprise that happened last night was that Randy Orton got drafted and stayed on Smackdown. I think something backstage is going on with Randy Orton and the creative team. Ever since losing the title his career has been going down hill. He has one of the best feuds going on with CM Punk and at Wrestlemania they cut his match short and now he is moving to a smaller show.
- Other superstars to change shows were: Rey Mysterio, the Big Show, Alberto Del Rio, Mark Henry, Sin Cara, Daniel Bryan, Ted Dibiase, Drew Mcintyre, Kofi Kingston and Jack Swagger. For a full list go to wwe.com.
- The interesting thing about all the moves to me is Alberto Del Rio going to RAW. To me this means that Christian will win the ladder match at extreme rules. For two reasons. One he deserves to be champion and two in the other title match all three superstars are on RAW so each show has to have a title. I think that Del Rio will lose that match and go on to start a feud with John Cena. It is something new. We have seen pretty much everything we are going to see out of Cena and Miz. Give them each a new person to work with.
- I see Cena winning the title in the cage match and Miz going on to feud with John Morrison. Miz will blame Morrison for costing him the title and the feud will just carry on from there. While some of the other names, I don't see them competing for any titles right now, it gives them a fresh start on a new show.
- In my opinion nobody needed a switch more than Dibiase and Mcintyre. These two were champions at one point and now have trouble getting tv time. Hopefully the switch will help.
- Now to my solution to get the draft more meaningful. It's quite simple. The WWE has to go back to when SMACKDOWN and RAW were there own separate shows and had their own separate pay per views. That was when SMACKDOWN was at its best. They developed the wrestlers into superstars. SMACKDOWN was were Cena and Edge got their first taste of stardom. Go back to that system and have the two shows meet at the big pay per views. They can meet at Wrestlemania, Summerslam, Bragging Rights.
- In the end I like the draft it shakes things up and only time will tell how the wrestlers who got drafted will do in their new roles and on their new show.

AFTERMATH OF THE DRAFT

Edge Retires
The only meaningful event that happened on RAW last night was that Edge, also known as Adam Copeland, announced his retirement from the World Wrestling Entertainment. At first I thought, as I am sure many of you did, was that this was just part of a storyline and he wasn't really retiring. Then I looked on wrestlezone.com and they say it is 100% true. Very shocking news.
Although we shouldn't have been surprised by the announcement. For many weeks before Wrestlemania it had been reported that Edge was leaning towards retirement. It is very sad to see a great superstar call it quits. Whether you loved Edge or hated him, you can say that Edge gave you everything he had night in and night out and put on one hell of a show. It is hard to imagine that a guy breaking into the business as a vampire and being part of the Brood would become an eleven time world heavyweight champion. But that may not be what Edge will be known for when people look back on his career. What I remember most when I think of Edge is him being part of what might be the best tag team ever. Teaming up with his best friend Jason Reso, also known as Christian, they captured the tag team championship seven different times. Making many historical moments along the way.
Who will ever forget the very first Tables, Ladders and Chairs match at SummerSlam 2000. The match has become infamous with the tag teams of Edge and Christian, the Hardys and the Dudleys. Edge and Christian would not only amaze fans with their in ring ability but would show fans their comical side with their five second pose. For those with the benefit of flash photography.
Besides being a famous tag team wrestler, Edge captured many single titles. In 2001 Edge's single career started taking off. He won the 2001 King of the Ring and captured the Intercontinental Title. Edge would go on to hold the Intercontinental Title many times and capture the United States title as well. Edge was drafted by Smackdown in the first ever WWE Lottery. Upon arriving he began a feud with Kurt Angle. Edge and Angle had some great matches and funny moments. The feud ended in a hair vs hair match with Edge winning. In April of 2004, Edge captured another Intercontinental Title but was stripped of the title due to an injury.
Upon his return Edge went from fan favorite to heel. Edge wanted to be World Heavyweight Champion. But when the fans chose Shawn Michaels as HHH opponent on Taboo Tuesday Edge took it upon himself to interfer and cost Michaels the match. Michaels would get his payback a year later as Edge competed in the very first Elimination Chamber match and was the first superstar to ever be eliminated when Michaels, acting as a special referee, superkicked Edge allowing him to be pinned. The two would battle at the 2005 Royal Rumble with Edge gaining the victory.
Edge became the first ever winner of the Money in the Bank match at Wrestlemania 21. In 2006 New Year's Revolution, John Cena won the Elimination Chamber but didn't leave with the title as Edge would cash in his money in the bank briefcase and defeat Cena to gain his first WWE world heavyweight title. Edge would only remain champion for three weeks as he would lose the belt back to Cena at the Royal Rumble.
Edge would go on to capture the World Title eleven different times feuding with Cena, The Undertaker, HHH, Kane and the list goes on an on. Edge will be one of the wrestlers that will be sorely missed. He has had a phenomenal career and will be a WWE Hall of Famer. It is good to see that Edge is going out on top after winning his Wrestlemania match vs Alberto Del Rio.
Good Bye Edge.

WRESTLEMANIA RESULTS: WHAT WWE DID RIGHT AND WHAT THEY DID WRONG!
- With Wrestlemania 27 in the books, it is time to look back and see what the World Wrestling Entertainment did right and what they did wrong. It is hard to imagine that the WWE would do anything wrong with a Wrestlemania, but they did. First lets go match by match.
- I love how they got things started off. After the Rock came out and got the crowd going, they didn't let the crowd sit and get restless by throwing the mix tag match or the eight man tag match out. No. The WWE kept the crowd standing as they went right into the World Title Match. Edge defending the title against Alberto Del Rio. Result Edge retains title. I was very surprised that Edge kept his title in this match, but glad because I thought that the WWE was pushing Del Rio to quickly. I thought for sure that Christian would betray Edge and cost him the title. Setting up a feud between the former partners. But that didn't happen. It was almost pointless have Christian and Brodus Clay out there. They really didn't get involved in the match. I am very anxious to see what the WWE decides to do from here. Especially with Christian. Give him the title and let him run the show.
- Next match was Cody Rhodes vs Rey Mysterio. Rhodes needs a new gimmick. Coming out with the plastic mask when his face is fine is just stupid. You knew it was going to be taken off during the match and it was.The match overall was good. I thought that this could be a match to push Rhodes' career. I don't see him contending for the World Title anytime soon but he could be a solid Intercontinental champion. Result Rhodes defeats Mysterio. Like how WWE had Rhodes win by himself nobody came down and interfered to help him win. Want to see what the WWE does next with him.
- After the match they had a Snoop Dogg segment which was just stupid and pointless. All it did was kill time. Time that could have been use for a match. I think WWE tries to get as many celebrities camera time as they can and it takes from all the work the wrestlers put in.
- Third match of the night was Kane, Big Show, Santino Marella, and Kofi Kingston vs the Corre. This match had no business being on this card. The wrestlers knew it, the fans knew it and the WWE knew it as the match ended real fast. I don't think the Corre even got an offensive move in.
- The segment after this match had the Rock and Divas Champion Eve Torres. Funny segment, as always with the Rock.
- The fourth match on the card was Randy Orton vs CM Punk. This match was one that I couldn't wait for. I thought this match would steal the show. I was very surprised to see that this match was on this early. Really. The WWE doesn't think enough of these two great talents to have them with the other main eventers. Their storyline alone has carried RAW since the Royal Rumble. They may not be as big of storyline as the Miz. John Cena, and the Rock, but quite frankly who is. They deserved to be billed ahead of the mix tag match and the Cole/Lawler match. Orton and Punk did not disappoint. The match was great. With each wrestler gaining momentum as different times in the match. It ended with Punk flying off the top rope and Orton hitting the RKO in midair. I still think that these two aren't done and have a great feud ahead of them. So I look forward to see what the WWE does to each of these stars going forward.
- The hall of fame inductees are out next. And i hated how Shawn Michaels couldn't stand on stage with everyone else. No. He had everyone else out there and when it was time for him to be called he had to make a grand entrance. But that is Michaels for you. Always having to steal as much spotlight as he can.
- Next match was the announcers match. Cole vs Lawler. This match went on way to long. Cole was dead tired half way through the match and half his moves didn't look like he was doing anything. Lawler won, so we thought, but the Raw General Manager chimed in and said Lawler was disqualified. So Cole actually won the match. I find this funny as it was Lawler's dream to compete at Wrestlmania and he ended up losing to someone who has no wrestling experience.
- The match that headlined Wrestlemania was up next. The Undertaker vs HHH. Would the streak survive? The answer was yes. The streak went to 19-0. The match was great. It had everything you could possibly want. Near fall after near fall after near fall. The Undertaker looked seriously hurt after the match. He had trouble getting off the mat and when he finally did he fell right to the ring floor. HHH even stayed out a few extra minutes to make sure he was ok and they ended up carrrying him out on a stretcher. I have trouble believing that this is part of a storyline. The Undertaker didn't move for way too long and it didn't seem that anybody knew what was going on.
- Next match was John Morrison, Trish Stratus and Snooki vs Laycool and Dolph Ziggler. Morrison and Ziggler had no part in this match, as Morrison hit one move on Ziggler and both were done for the rest of the match.Trish and McCool fought most of the match until Trish tagged Snooki in she hit two moves and pinned McCool. Hated this match when it was scheduled and hated watching it. Morrison and Ziggler's career went no where. Maybe even killed it. What the WWE needs to do is give Morrison a new gimmick. He is a great talent and could and should be world champion one day. They also need to get Dolph away from Vickie. She has no point in the WWE. She is only holding Dolph back.
- The main event was out next. The Miz vs John Cena. I was wondering how the WWE was going to approach this match. Main question was what would the Rock do? I think that everyone was wondering when the Rock would appear and it was taking away from the match. The Miz dominated Cena for most of the match. Cena just didn't look right, even had the announcers saying it multiple times. Cena would gain some offense and take the match outside the ring. The match ended in a double count out. We all knew that Wrestlemania wasn't going to end that way and out came the Rock. He restarted the match as no dq and no count out match. The Miz and Cena rolled back into the ring and the Rock took over. He rock bottom Cena allowing the Miz to gain the victory and retain the title. But the Rock wasn't done. He let the Miz have his glory, but when he was done celebrating he attacked him and ended the show by delivering the people's elbow.
- Overall, I give WWE a 3 out of 5 stars. There were many things that they did well. But i felt there were many more that could have been approved on. We will see the aftermath on RAW tomorrow.
