RAW: HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT

On tonight's episode of WWE Raw, HHH opened the show by making a two huge announcements. First he announced that tonight and for the foreseeable future fans would not only see Raw superstars competing but would also see the stars of Smackdown. This means that the split brands has come to an end.

In my opinion, this has been a longtime coming. The split brands were great when Smackdown had its own pay per views. They could take time and create their own superstars. Like they did with Edge, Eddie Guerrero and John Cena. But now stories have gotten stale and we see the same old matches. Mainly due to the fact that Smackdown just doesn't have any stars.

With this announcement brings many questions. Will there still multiple titles? There shouldn't be. Putting everyone on one roster again should mean one champion. What is going to happen to the mid card stars. For example Christian. A big name star on Smackdown but with everybody fighting for one title he will never get a shot. So it will be very interesting to see how things will proceed.

However this will give time to let story lines to develop further. For a long time now story lines have gone on for four weeks and then have been dropped. Also with everyone on the same roster the tag team division should be strengthen. As the only way for some wrestlers to get television time will be as a tag team.

His second announcement was that Punk vs Nash at Night of the Champions. This is an awful match and it does nothing for Punk. Nash can not hang with the best in the world.

Raw continued the rest of the night with great matches. The first match: Randy Orton vs Dolph Ziggler. This match proved Dolph can hang with the big boys. Even though he was defeated by Orton, he had some great spots and proved he could be a future champion.

After a segment with Cena Christian Mark Henry and Sheamus. Which creates the main event of the night. CM Punk comes out to face The Miz. I love both of the wrestlers. Both of them are great in the ring. Punk a little more polished than Miz. Both fantastic on the microphone. Punk won by disqualification as R-Truth came down to help the Miz.

I like the duo of Truth and the Miz and think they will challenge and be tag team champions one day. But not for long as The Miz will be a world champion again.

Sin Cara defeated Jack Swagger with help from Dolph. Dolph got on the apron in the middle of the match yelling at Swagger. Distracting him. Cara took advantage of the distraction and won with a roll up.

Evan Bourne and Kofi Kingston now known as Air Boom retained their titles against the team of David Otunga and Michael McGillicutty.

Main Event: Cena and Sheamus vs Christian and Mark Henry. The best wrestler of the four was clearly Christian. He can out wrestle them all. Christian just isn't the best wrestler in this match, he is the one of the best wrestler in the business. With that being said the faces defeated the heels in what was a pretty decent match.

The best news happened at the end of the night. HHH is shown in his office with CM Punk and announces that his match with Nash at Night of the Champions is cancelled and Punk will take on HHH.

SummerSlam Predictions

Quality not quantity is the phrase we always hear. The WWE is seems to be trying to deliver that at this year's Summerslam. Summerslam is the second biggest PPV, second only to Wrestlemania, and to date there are only five matches scheduled. Some of the more popular wrestlers are left off the card. Wrestlers like the Miz, Rey Mysterio, Dolph Ziggler, Alex Riley and Alberto Del Rio.
First Match: Daniel Bryan vs Wade Barrett. This match was added late and, to me, is a throw in match. Bryan will win so people can see how good he is. He is the money in the bank winner and i know he said he is waiting until Wrestlemania to cash it in, but maybe with not many matches on the card he will change his mind and go after the winner of Orton vs Christian. Unlikely, but the option is there.
Second match: Diva Championship. Kelly Kelly vs Beth Phoenix. Not real interested in this one. I think Kelly Kelly will win and hang on to her title. There is no real reason to take the title away from her. Beth Phoenix may be the better wrestler of the two, but i see no advantage to having her beat Kelly Kelly.
Third match: Mark Henry vs Sheamus. This will be a brawl. Two heavyweights going at it. This is to complete Sheamus' turn. His turn from heel to face. Sheamus will become a fan favorite by beating the man that nobody wants to wrestle. For weeks Mark Henry has been injuring wrestlers. Wrestlers like Kane and the Big Show. Sheamus will win and give him a push for the title.
Fourth Match: World Heavyweight Championship: Randy Orton vs Christian. There should be no reason why Christian doesn't leave Summerslam with the World Title. Why give him the title if you weren't going to let him keep it. What makes matters worse is that Christian didn't even win the belt in typical fashion. He won the belt by a DQ. This match will prove that Christian belongs and deserves to be champion. Plus, if Sheamus wins like I expect him to it will set up a Sheamus vs Christian feud. This will be a great match between two great athletes.
Fifth Match: WWE Championship: CM Punk vs John Cena. If this was a match straight up and was determined by who the best wrestler was, CM Punk would win hands down. However, there are many things to consider. For instance, HHH has named himself special guest referee. There has been talk of HHH vs CM Punk. That would be awesome to see. Both are doing great on the mic, by insulting each other. It has been rumored that they could lock up as soon as Survivor Series. I would rather see the match at Wrestlemania. On the other hand, Cena is the WWE's cash cow and a guy that brings in the money that he does gets the belt.
Another thing to consider is the health of John Cena. The WWE is going to want him 100% healthy for him match at Wrestlemania vs the Rock. They could have him lose the match to CM Punk. Have him get injured, take a couple months off and come back at royal rumble in January ready to go.
This match should end in one of two ways. First, Punk should win clean over Cena. Better wrestler, better on the mic as this past month and a half have shown. His popularity is up and the WWE should ride him while he is hot. Plus, Mysterio is set to face the champion in his hometown of San Diego the Raw following Summerslam.
The second ending, should be that HHH screws Punk, allowing Cena to win. Then, Alberto Del Rio should come and cash in his case and beat Cena. This sets up a Del Rio vs Mysterio, heel vs face. Also, sets up the HHH vs Punk. As Punk would want revenge on HHH for costing him the title.
Should be a good show as the WWE always puts on a good show for its fans. Can't wait for tomorrow.

WWE RAW 8/1/11

Like everyone else in the world, I was interested in seeing what was going to happen with the WWE Title situation. WWE did not did disappoint with their opening segment. CM Punk and HHH were tremendous on the microphone. The crowd was excited and ate the whole segment up. It was comical and at certain times truthful. What was even better is that this is the start of setting up a match between the two of them. A rumor is going around that at Survivor Series a match will be set up between the two. However, I say wait until Wrestlemania. CM Punk vs HHH on the grandest stage of them all will be amazing and would be a better match than John Cena vs Rock. As Punk and HHH are better wrestlers than Rock and Cena.

Beth Phoenix wins a divas battle royal to become number one contender.

A comical backstage segment with R-Truth and the Miz. Miz opens up with his catch phrase, which has become the new 'WHAT', Really. Really. Really. They talk about conspiracies, which R-Truth brings up a good point. If WWE was trying to do everything they could to bring back CM Punk, why were the wrestlers competing in a tournament to crown a new WWE Champion.

Miz and R-Truth team up to take on Rey Mysterio and John Morrison. A fast pace and action packed match. The Miz and R-Truth win the match. After the match, Miz hits the Skull Crushing Fianle on Morrison. Then R-Truth hits him with a bottle of water. From the past few weeks, it appears that the Miz will fight Mysterio at SummerSlam as I don't see what else either of them can do because the title picture is so screwed up that you can't have a number one contender because you don't have a champion. While R-Truth will fight John Morrison.

A short promo is shown with HHH about his announcement tonight with the two champions situation.

Dolph and Vicki come out. They really need to get rid of Vicki, as she is holding Dolph back. She is just plain annoying. Alex Riley comes out and the Miz has taught him well. Quickly becoming one of my favorite up and comers. Hope WWE doesn't push him too quickly as they have done with others. This segment was good. Gave Riley some respect and made Dolph get heat from the fans. These two could have a great match at SummerSlam for the United States Title.

Next is a tag team match that nobody really cares about as the WWE doesn't have a tag team division. Otunga and McGillicutty vs Santino Marella and Zach Ryder. Horrible match. Kept no interest. Listening to Cole, Lawler and Ross argue like children was almost enough to make me switch the channel. Winners: Otunga and McGillicutty.

They show a replay of what happened earlier with Punk and HHH and I can't get over how good that segment was. Punk does a short interview in the back about what his thoughts are about the title situation. Then we cut to the ring as Alberto Del Rio, Mr. Money In The Bank, comes out to face Evan Bourne.

The matches haven't been great tonight. Only the tag team match between Miz and R-Truth vs Mysterio and Morrison was good.

Seriously the WWE has to do something with their announce team. Listen to these three bicker is actually making them lose ratings. Del Rio beats Bourne easily. This was a match to keep people interested in Del Rio and remind people how good he is. Del Rio attacks Bourne after the match. Kofi comes and makes the save, setting up a match for them at SummerSlam.

They show a poll on who the WWE Champion should be and I don't see how the fans can say that John Cena should be WWE Champion. We can live without Cena holding the title and taking all the glory allow someone else to have the spotlight.

HHH comes out and is about to make his decision. John Laurinaitis interrupts HHH. He tells HHH to strip Cena, of course they are not. But this brings Cena to the ring. They talk a bit, he threatens to hit Laurinaitis and he leaves. HHH announces that he is not going to strip Cena. Bringing out CM Punk, who should be the true champion. HHH says he isn't stripping Punk either. At SummerSlam they will fight winner is the true champion. The only decision HHH could make. Punk and Cena take turns at raising the belt in the air and the crowd reacts to each of them as Raw goes off the air.

Not a bad Raw. Looking forward to seeing Cean vs Punk again at SummerSlam. Although, I believe that the WWE will allow Cena to beat Punk and give him the title. Because they are already talking about Punk vs HHH at Survivor Series as i noted above.

RECAP

I would like to apologize for not posting in a while. Been very busy doing other things and just have not had the opportunity. But lets recap what has gone on while I have been away.

CM Punk has had one of the most memorable months in wrestling history. People cannot stop talking about him nor should they. I have always liked CM Punk. Not only is he one of the best in the squared circle but his skills on the microphone are second to none. For those of you that don't know Punk announced he was leaving the WWE after the Money In The Bank pay per view. After he beat John Cena for the WWE Title. In the weeks that followed he would make more announcements saying how he was the best wrestler in the world (he is). And how the WWE is being run by, lets just say, people who shouldn't be running it.

Punk backed up everything he said. He beat Cena for the title and left. Now if anyone believed that Punk was not under contract at the time needs their head examined. There was no way Vince McMahon would let his WWE Title leave his company and go somewhere else. This was all a story line and has been played perfectly. Just go back and watch Punk's promos starting with the one on June 27.

Punk makes some great points. Why is Dewayne "The Rock" Johnson in the main event at Wrestlemania. Punk and other wrestlers work their a** off day in and day out in that ring and deserve to be in the main event. Where has The Rock been since last years Wrestlemania? Certainly not in a WWE ring.

Punk and Cena have a great match at the pay per view. Really one of Cena's best in a long time. It is a memorable match and if anybody has not seen it needs to go and download it right now.

The only thing going on on SmackDown is the feud between Christian and Randy Orton. Christian has been trying to get the belt back ever since losing it two days after he won it. After many opportunities and bad referee calls he had not succeeded until Money In The Bank pay per view where Orton got himself disqualified and lost the title.

Those are the only two stories, really worth talking about quite frankly it is all about PUNK.

Now onto last nights RAW. They opened the show by crowning a new champion after Rey Mysterio beat the Miz. A decent match but nothing special. In fact nothing on this night was special because everybody was waiting to see if CM Punk would show up.

As the new man in charge, HHH came out did a little speech brought Jim Ross back to the announce team and made a title match for later that night. Mysterio vs Cena. Are you kidding me? Why dose Cena get the shot at a phony title? He lost his last match and in order to have a rematch for the title the real champ has to be there and he has 30 days to defend his championship. Again all part of a bigger storyline but the WWE treats their fans as idiots who don't know anything about wrestling.

Of course Cena wins and god forbid he doesn't have a title to put around his waist for more than a couple months. At the end of the night, was the moment that everyone was waiting for. CM Punk's music blared and he walked to the ring with the real WWE title. Cena held up his title saying he was the real champ a few fans cheered. Punk hold the real title up saying he is the real champion and the crowd goes nuts.

After Raw goes off the air, Punk grabs a mic and says two words. Two words everyone wanted to hear. "I'm Back!" Two words in my mind that he didn't have to say because he never left.

Orton stealing the spotlight?

Everything that i keep reading seems to have people being mad at Randy Orton for stealing the spotlight from Christian. Are you serious? People where have you been and what have you been watching?

There should be nobody complaining about Orton finally getting some attention. He has always been the best wrestler on Monday Night Raw and has always been overshadowed by someone else.

When he was a member of Evolution, HHH was the main man getting all the attention. Then SummerSlam 2004 came and Orton gained his first Heavyweight title by beating Chris Benoit. How did he get celebrated by being dumped on his head and kicked out of Evolution and losing the title.

Then for years he went on his own only to get overlooked by John Cena. Orton has the best character on TV and is a great worker. He has the right to be noticed and a right to have his time in the spotlight.

Is he stealing the spotlight from Christian? Let's think about it. Yeah it sucks that Christian lost the belt after two days. But we have talked more about Christian in the past couple weeks than we have in his thirteen year career. Fans have rally around Christian and want him to win the title back. If anything Orton has brought Christian to the forefront and increased Christian's spotlight. Stop blaming Orton.

These two are going to have a great feud on Smackdown. Sit back and enjoy the show.

Christian: What is in his future?

With all the uproar and debate about Christian and the World Title this week, now seemed like the perfect time to weigh in.

First, people must know how big of a Christian fan I am. I was extremely excited to see him win the World Title, which in my opinion was long over due, at Extreme Rules. I was also shocked on how many Christian fans out there and agreed with me that Christian has all the makings of a great champion.

However, I agree that Randy Orton is the biggest star on Smackdown. Orton moved from the biggest show to a secondary show without complaint. Obviously, making that move without complaint, he needs to have the title. Orton is a great wrestler and he deserves to have the title. Having him with the title makes the locker room respect him more. He will be a voice of the that locker room and somebody that younger wrestlers can look up too. I am not saying that Christian can't be that guy either. Christian has put in his dues and is a great wrestler in his own right. I just believe that Vince is still angry with Christian for leaving the WWE and going to TNA.

While I agree with Orton having the title, I totally disagree in the way Vince only let Christian have a two day reign as champion. It is a spit in the face to Christian and all his fans. Why did he have to lose the title two days after his epic win at the pay per view. Would it have been so hard to let him have the title for a month and lose it to Orton at the next pay per view. You still get the same message across in a more respectful way to Christian.

As crazy as this sounds, I think this will be great for Christian. Turn him heel and let him feud with Orton. On the smackdown roster they really don't have a top heel. Sheamus and Wade Barrett are heels but aren't good enough to be the top dog. Plus the wrestling world has already seen the Sheamus vs Orton and Barrett vs Orton. that would be old. The whole idea of the draft was to shake things up and give us matches we never seen before.

Christian has been a heel before, and have done a good job as a heel, and has the talent with the microphone and the wrestling ability to pull it off. If you think about it all great champions have got their careers started as heels. Orton was a great heel and won titles before coming face. John Cena career started him rapping to the ring and winning titles before coming with the hustle, loyalty, respect character. Before winning 11 world titles Edge had to become the rated r superstar. The list goes on and on from Kurt Angle to Shawn Michaels to Bret Hart. Turning heel and having everybody hate you gets a career going and Christian can and I believe will do the same.

I know the WWE Universe was mad and at first I was mad too, but there is always more to the story. I believe this is just part of a bigger storyline for Christian. Just have patience.

AFTERMATH OF THE DRAFT

  • Coming into last night's RAW, I really wasn't looking forward to the draft. I think the draft has lost it's impact through the years. (I have a solution to this. Which I will hit later in the article.) I figured no big names will be moving this year. Most of the names are already on RAW and there is no point moving a big star on a big show to a smaller show.

  • Boy was I wrong. Starting with the first pick, John Cena moved from RAW to SMACKDOWN. Cena the biggest superstar in the company on the move. What a surprise. But think about should any of us have been surprised. I am sure we all have seen the ending of RAW or have read about what happened. If you haven't Cena got drafted back to RAW. We should have known that something was going to happen. It just isn't a smart business move to move your biggest star from the biggest show.

  • Probably the biggest surprise that happened last night was that Randy Orton got drafted and stayed on Smackdown. I think something backstage is going on with Randy Orton and the creative team. Ever since losing the title his career has been going down hill. He has one of the best feuds going on with CM Punk and at Wrestlemania they cut his match short and now he is moving to a smaller show.

  • Other superstars to change shows were: Rey Mysterio, the Big Show, Alberto Del Rio, Mark Henry, Sin Cara, Daniel Bryan, Ted Dibiase, Drew Mcintyre, Kofi Kingston and Jack Swagger. For a full list go to wwe.com.

  • The interesting thing about all the moves to me is Alberto Del Rio going to RAW. To me this means that Christian will win the ladder match at extreme rules. For two reasons. One he deserves to be champion and two in the other title match all three superstars are on RAW so each show has to have a title. I think that Del Rio will lose that match and go on to start a feud with John Cena. It is something new. We have seen pretty much everything we are going to see out of Cena and Miz. Give them each a new person to work with.

  • I see Cena winning the title in the cage match and Miz going on to feud with John Morrison. Miz will blame Morrison for costing him the title and the feud will just carry on from there. While some of the other names, I don't see them competing for any titles right now, it gives them a fresh start on a new show.

  • In my opinion nobody needed a switch more than Dibiase and Mcintyre. These two were champions at one point and now have trouble getting tv time. Hopefully the switch will help.

  • Now to my solution to get the draft more meaningful. It's quite simple. The WWE has to go back to when SMACKDOWN and RAW were there own separate shows and had their own separate pay per views. That was when SMACKDOWN was at its best. They developed the wrestlers into superstars. SMACKDOWN was were Cena and Edge got their first taste of stardom. Go back to that system and have the two shows meet at the big pay per views. They can meet at Wrestlemania, Summerslam, Bragging Rights.

  • In the end I like the draft it shakes things up and only time will tell how the wrestlers who got drafted will do in their new roles and on their new show.

Edge Retires

The only meaningful event that happened on RAW last night was that Edge, also known as Adam Copeland, announced his retirement from the World Wrestling Entertainment. At first I thought, as I am sure many of you did, was that this was just part of a storyline and he wasn't really retiring. Then I looked on wrestlezone.com and they say it is 100% true. Very shocking news.

Although we shouldn't have been surprised by the announcement. For many weeks before Wrestlemania it had been reported that Edge was leaning towards retirement. It is very sad to see a great superstar call it quits. Whether you loved Edge or hated him, you can say that Edge gave you everything he had night in and night out and put on one hell of a show. It is hard to imagine that a guy breaking into the business as a vampire and being part of the Brood would become an eleven time world heavyweight champion. But that may not be what Edge will be known for when people look back on his career. What I remember most when I think of Edge is him being part of what might be the best tag team ever. Teaming up with his best friend Jason Reso, also known as Christian, they captured the tag team championship seven different times. Making many historical moments along the way.

Who will ever forget the very first Tables, Ladders and Chairs match at SummerSlam 2000. The match has become infamous with the tag teams of Edge and Christian, the Hardys and the Dudleys. Edge and Christian would not only amaze fans with their in ring ability but would show fans their comical side with their five second pose. For those with the benefit of flash photography.

Besides being a famous tag team wrestler, Edge captured many single titles. In 2001 Edge's single career started taking off. He won the 2001 King of the Ring and captured the Intercontinental Title. Edge would go on to hold the Intercontinental Title many times and capture the United States title as well. Edge was drafted by Smackdown in the first ever WWE Lottery. Upon arriving he began a feud with Kurt Angle. Edge and Angle had some great matches and funny moments. The feud ended in a hair vs hair match with Edge winning. In April of 2004, Edge captured another Intercontinental Title but was stripped of the title due to an injury.

Upon his return Edge went from fan favorite to heel. Edge wanted to be World Heavyweight Champion. But when the fans chose Shawn Michaels as HHH opponent on Taboo Tuesday Edge took it upon himself to interfer and cost Michaels the match. Michaels would get his payback a year later as Edge competed in the very first Elimination Chamber match and was the first superstar to ever be eliminated when Michaels, acting as a special referee, superkicked Edge allowing him to be pinned. The two would battle at the 2005 Royal Rumble with Edge gaining the victory.

Edge became the first ever winner of the Money in the Bank match at Wrestlemania 21. In 2006 New Year's Revolution, John Cena won the Elimination Chamber but didn't leave with the title as Edge would cash in his money in the bank briefcase and defeat Cena to gain his first WWE world heavyweight title. Edge would only remain champion for three weeks as he would lose the belt back to Cena at the Royal Rumble.

Edge would go on to capture the World Title eleven different times feuding with Cena, The Undertaker, HHH, Kane and the list goes on an on. Edge will be one of the wrestlers that will be sorely missed. He has had a phenomenal career and will be a WWE Hall of Famer. It is good to see that Edge is going out on top after winning his Wrestlemania match vs Alberto Del Rio.

Good Bye Edge.

RAW 4/4/11

After watching Wrestlemania, and seeing the Rock cost John Cena the title I couldn't wait for Monday Night Raw.

However, it turned out to be a wait and see night. Which was smart by WWE making everybody stay tune until the end. But some of their decisions I have to question. Raw opened with another superstar, who had the best match last night, HHH.

HHH talked about how tired and beaten he was. How he never hit anybody harder than he hit the Undertaker. But the Undertaker kept getting up. The Undertaker was so beaten that he needed to be carried out on a stretcher. It was the first time I could ever recall, and I have been watching wrestling since I was six, seeing the Phenom unable to walk back to the locker room. It made me question how long the Deadman could keep this up. His body has taken a ton of damage over the years. If he called it quits after last night no one could blame him. I don't think he will, but I do start to wonder when will the time come.

HHH leaves us wondering about a Wrestlemania 28 rematch and all I have to say to that is NO! Don't get me wrong last night was great. It was the best match on the card and both superstars delivered. HHH has had two shots at the streak. This shouldn't be lets keep trying until I end it. Let someone else go at it and end it. A match that we have never seen. A match that puts a superstar's career over if he beats him and ends the streak. A perfect example would be Christian. But hopefully at next year's Wrestlemania Christian will be fighting for the title.

Cole comes out next bragging about his victory last night and asking for a rematch. Lawler is eager to accept but the rematch isn't from last night. It is from two weeks ago when he took on Swagger. How little faith the WWE has in the All American-American to not have him wrestling any active wrestlers. This guy was world champion at one point and now is Michael Cole's lackey. Lawler won the match, as if anyone cared.

The best match on Raw was between Randy Orton teaming up with Rey Mysterio to take on the tandem of Cody Rhodes and CM Punk. I like how they are not putting an end to these two feuds. I think the wrestlers work great together, especially Orton and Punk. The match was high action and had the crowd going. Orton and Mysterio picked up the victory when Mysterio hit the 619 on Rhodes which led to Orton hitting the RKO on Rhodes.

Stone Cold made an appearance to announce the contestants of Tough Enough. Funny chant from the crowd as they wanted Stone Cold to stun them all. The Miz came out to interrupt. Telling everyone how he went from Tough Enough to WWE Champion. It looked like Stone Cold and the Miz were going to go at it, but Alex Riley attacked Stone Cold from behind and then ended up getting stunned for his trouble.

Didn't understand why Alberto Del Rio was on Raw. He went from wrestling Edge for the title to appearing on Raw wrestling Evan Bourne. It just didn't make sense to me having him wrestle and beat a nobody a night after he lost to Edge. Is he staying on Raw now? If so who is he going to feud with? Questions we will have to wait and see.

When is the WWE going to get rid of Vickie. She has no purpose on any wrestling show. It was ok when she was a general manager, but now she is annoying and is really holding Dolph Ziggler back. Another thing the WWE needs to do is get John Morrison and Dolph Ziggler in the ring and have a one on one match. These two are great athletes and could have a great match.

The match that was suppose to be last night but never aired happened on Raw. Sheamus held on to the United States Title. But the real question is what happened after the match. Sin Cara made his anticipated debut by attacking Sheamus after the match. What is his problem with Sheamus? Another question we will have to wait the answer for.

Finally, the moment we have been waiting for. Cena came out talked a little on the Rock and gave Miz respect for getting the job done. Rock came out and answered Cena calling him out. After all the talk, they finally agreed to wrestle one on one. At Wrestlemania 28? What? We have to wait a whole year to see them two in the ring.

This is a big gamble by the WWE booking this match a year in advance. Who is going to remember the storyline? Is the Rock still going to be making appearances? What if one of them gets seriously hurt? What are you going to do with Cena now? There are just too many questions with this move. I guess we will all just have to wait and see.

WRESTLEMANIA RESULTS: WHAT WWE DID RIGHT AND WHAT THEY DID WRONG!

  1. With Wrestlemania 27 in the books, it is time to look back and see what the World Wrestling Entertainment did right and what they did wrong. It is hard to imagine that the WWE would do anything wrong with a Wrestlemania, but they did. First lets go match by match.

  2. I love how they got things started off. After the Rock came out and got the crowd going, they didn't let the crowd sit and get restless by throwing the mix tag match or the eight man tag match out. No. The WWE kept the crowd standing as they went right into the World Title Match. Edge defending the title against Alberto Del Rio. Result Edge retains title. I was very surprised that Edge kept his title in this match, but glad because I thought that the WWE was pushing Del Rio to quickly. I thought for sure that Christian would betray Edge and cost him the title. Setting up a feud between the former partners. But that didn't happen. It was almost pointless have Christian and Brodus Clay out there. They really didn't get involved in the match. I am very anxious to see what the WWE decides to do from here. Especially with Christian. Give him the title and let him run the show.

  3. Next match was Cody Rhodes vs Rey Mysterio. Rhodes needs a new gimmick. Coming out with the plastic mask when his face is fine is just stupid. You knew it was going to be taken off during the match and it was.The match overall was good. I thought that this could be a match to push Rhodes' career. I don't see him contending for the World Title anytime soon but he could be a solid Intercontinental champion. Result Rhodes defeats Mysterio. Like how WWE had Rhodes win by himself nobody came down and interfered to help him win. Want to see what the WWE does next with him.

  4. After the match they had a Snoop Dogg segment which was just stupid and pointless. All it did was kill time. Time that could have been use for a match. I think WWE tries to get as many celebrities camera time as they can and it takes from all the work the wrestlers put in.

  5. Third match of the night was Kane, Big Show, Santino Marella, and Kofi Kingston vs the Corre. This match had no business being on this card. The wrestlers knew it, the fans knew it and the WWE knew it as the match ended real fast. I don't think the Corre even got an offensive move in.

  6. The segment after this match had the Rock and Divas Champion Eve Torres. Funny segment, as always with the Rock.

  7. The fourth match on the card was Randy Orton vs CM Punk. This match was one that I couldn't wait for. I thought this match would steal the show. I was very surprised to see that this match was on this early. Really. The WWE doesn't think enough of these two great talents to have them with the other main eventers. Their storyline alone has carried RAW since the Royal Rumble. They may not be as big of storyline as the Miz. John Cena, and the Rock, but quite frankly who is. They deserved to be billed ahead of the mix tag match and the Cole/Lawler match. Orton and Punk did not disappoint. The match was great. With each wrestler gaining momentum as different times in the match. It ended with Punk flying off the top rope and Orton hitting the RKO in midair. I still think that these two aren't done and have a great feud ahead of them. So I look forward to see what the WWE does to each of these stars going forward.

  8. The hall of fame inductees are out next. And i hated how Shawn Michaels couldn't stand on stage with everyone else. No. He had everyone else out there and when it was time for him to be called he had to make a grand entrance. But that is Michaels for you. Always having to steal as much spotlight as he can.

  9. Next match was the announcers match. Cole vs Lawler. This match went on way to long. Cole was dead tired half way through the match and half his moves didn't look like he was doing anything. Lawler won, so we thought, but the Raw General Manager chimed in and said Lawler was disqualified. So Cole actually won the match. I find this funny as it was Lawler's dream to compete at Wrestlmania and he ended up losing to someone who has no wrestling experience.

  10. The match that headlined Wrestlemania was up next. The Undertaker vs HHH. Would the streak survive? The answer was yes. The streak went to 19-0. The match was great. It had everything you could possibly want. Near fall after near fall after near fall. The Undertaker looked seriously hurt after the match. He had trouble getting off the mat and when he finally did he fell right to the ring floor. HHH even stayed out a few extra minutes to make sure he was ok and they ended up carrrying him out on a stretcher. I have trouble believing that this is part of a storyline. The Undertaker didn't move for way too long and it didn't seem that anybody knew what was going on.

  11. Next match was John Morrison, Trish Stratus and Snooki vs Laycool and Dolph Ziggler. Morrison and Ziggler had no part in this match, as Morrison hit one move on Ziggler and both were done for the rest of the match.Trish and McCool fought most of the match until Trish tagged Snooki in she hit two moves and pinned McCool. Hated this match when it was scheduled and hated watching it. Morrison and Ziggler's career went no where. Maybe even killed it. What the WWE needs to do is give Morrison a new gimmick. He is a great talent and could and should be world champion one day. They also need to get Dolph away from Vickie. She has no point in the WWE. She is only holding Dolph back.

  12. The main event was out next. The Miz vs John Cena. I was wondering how the WWE was going to approach this match. Main question was what would the Rock do? I think that everyone was wondering when the Rock would appear and it was taking away from the match. The Miz dominated Cena for most of the match. Cena just didn't look right, even had the announcers saying it multiple times. Cena would gain some offense and take the match outside the ring. The match ended in a double count out. We all knew that Wrestlemania wasn't going to end that way and out came the Rock. He restarted the match as no dq and no count out match. The Miz and Cena rolled back into the ring and the Rock took over. He rock bottom Cena allowing the Miz to gain the victory and retain the title. But the Rock wasn't done. He let the Miz have his glory, but when he was done celebrating he attacked him and ended the show by delivering the people's elbow.

  13. Overall, I give WWE a 3 out of 5 stars. There were many things that they did well. But i felt there were many more that could have been approved on. We will see the aftermath on RAW tomorrow.

RAW 3/28/11

After anticipation of the most electrifying RAW ever, it' s time to look back and see how the World Wrestling Entertainment did. All week long, we heard about the face to face meeting of the Undertaker and HHH. And finally the Rock and John Cena in the same ring at the same time. With all the big names being advertised the WWE opened up the show with one man. One man who could capture the attention of millions. Not the Rock. No. the man that I am speaking of is CM Punk. Punk is the best heel in the industry. His microphone skills are top five in the industry. He has a great gimmick as a master manipulator. First, as the leader of the Straight Edge Society and now as the leader of the Nexus. Being from Chicago made him the perfect choice to kick off the show. He quickly had the crowd against him. After all the talking, Orton finally came out. He got the upper hand and was going for the kill shot, by punting Punk in the head. Orton's leg was hurt too bad for the move and he fell over. Orton over soldthe injury, but other than that this segment went over pretty well. Edge and Christian teamed up for the first time in seven years to take on Alberto Del Rio and Brodus Clay. It was great to see E and C back together. However, the match was not that great. Edge and Christian got the win and Del Rio attacked both of them after the match. The real story is what are the creative people of the WWE thinking. What are they waiting for? Christian should be added to the title match. They have had three opportunities to add him and have yet to do so. Now I believe that they have waited to long and he won't be added to the match. If Christian isn't in the match, he will be involved somehow. Most likely to cost Edge the title. Which just doesn't make any sense. Why have Christian come back at last month's pay-per-view and attack and beat Del Rio for three weeks to have him turn on Edge at Wrestlemania. If you want a feud between the two, which would be good they had the feud for the intercontinental title years ago, they should have waited to bring Christian back until Wrestlemania. But to have him turn on Edge now just doesn't make sense. The Undertaker and HHH were in ring getting ready to say what they had to say until Shawn Michaels music hit. Michaels had to come steal the spotlight. God forbid that someone else be the main eventer, the showstopper. Overall a good segment between the three. Undertaker saying HHH will end up just like his buddy Michaels. Unable to get the job down and retired. Which will happen as the streak will extend to 19-0. Nobody should break this streak. Nothing else happened up until the most electrifying man in sports entertainment music. This moment was what everybody had been waiting for and it wasn't a disappointment. The Rock came out did his catch phrases and then it was time for John Cena. Cena came out and said everything he had to say. He didn't hold back because he was in the presents of the Great One. Then it was time for the champion The Miz to come out. With all that is going on between Rock and Cena the Miz gets lost. The Miz and his lackey attacked the Rock. Cena did not come help the Rock. The Rock didn't need it. He fought back against the Miz ending it with the People's Elbow. Rock looked rusty missing a couple spots, but still good enough to get the job done. However, the show didn't end there. After the Rock threw the Miz out of the ring. Cena sneaked back in and hit the Attitude Adjustment, and the heel turn begins. The show ended with Cena giving the you can't see me symbol to the Rock. All in all a great way to end the show.

Jeff Hardy and TNA: What Were You Thinking?

While the World Wrestling Entertainment(WWE) is making news and grabbing headlines by bringing superstars The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin back for its Wrestlemania pay-per-view, Total Nonstop Action (TNA) decided to go a different route to grab some news.

By now I am sure that everybody has heard or read about what happened at TNA's Victory Road pay-per-view. In case you haven't: In the main event Sting was defending the TNA World Title against Jeff Hardy. Two of the biggest stars of the company, going after the biggest prize of the company.

The match lasted a whole minute and twenty-eight seconds. Why? Well the answer is simple. Jeff Hardy was too high on drugs to wrestle. I feel bad for Sting, a hall of fame wrestler, his reputation takes a hit. As the pay-per-view was going off the air the whole crowd was chanting "This is Bull****" And Sting stands on the ramp saying "I Agree!"

It is easy to blame Jeff Hardy for what happened that night, and he should get the most blame, but he is not the only one to receive the blame. Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff should get the blame as well.

They were brought in to this company because they were suppose to know what it took to compete with the WWE. Do you think having a main event match really puts you up in the same league as the WWE. Bischoff came down to the ring to waste time by coming up with a story. What is wrong with respecting your fans and tell them the truth that Hardy is too drugged up to wrestle and that you are firing him. Because Jeff Hardy should never be allowed to step into another wrestling ring again.

Well then the question arises: Who do you put into the match? There were many possibilities. How about the MotorCity Machine Guns. Two of your best wrestlers on the roster have been left off the past two pay-per-views since losing the tag team belts. All you have had to do was come out tell the truth that Hardy wasn't able to wrestle tonight. Have Sting issue an open challenge to the boys in the back.

Matt Morgan is a perfect choice. He should be wrestling for the title. He wrestled earlier in the evening, but the guy is in great shape and I am sure if you asked him if you want to go out and have a match with Sting for the title he is going to say, HELL YEAH. Coming out having a match with Sting, even if he loses, could only help his career.

Robert Roode is another good choice. While he is still tag team champions with James Storm, BeerMoney, he is a talent that is screaming to be a singles star. Granted that the tag team division is the one of the things that is stronger in TNA than it is in WWE, and you don't want to screw up a good thing, but still it would have been a better match.

Samoa Joe. Joe didn't even have a match on the pay-per-view. What has happened to this guy. He was a beast early on in TNA and then ever since his feud with Kurt Angle he has gone down hill. What they need to do is go back to the Joe that didn't care if he killed someone. Go back to the Joe that wanted to hurt someone. They had a great thing with this guy and blew it.

The Pope and Jay Lethal are two more names they could have picked. They had possibilities and just didn't choose one. Hogan and Bischoff are ruining this company. AJ Styles one of the top stars, and perhaps one of the best wrestlers in the world today, and they have him feuding with Matt Hardy and Bully Ray. They are not using their talent to their full capability. They have so much talent. They can be competitive to the WWE, but not until they get rid of the garbage, aka Hogan and Bischoff.

WRESTLEMANIA 27

As we inch closer to the greatest spectacle in all of sports entertainment, of course I am talking about Wrestlemania, a few questions come to mind. Questions like: What kind of impact will the Rock make? What about the Corre vs Nexus? I'll come back to this later in the story, but first lets break down the matches. First match: John Morrison, Trish Stratus and Snookie vs Dolph Ziggler and LayCool. I feel bad for both Morrison and Ziggler. This could be a great one on one match. Both of them have great talent, especially Morrison. Morrison went from contending for the world title, which is where he belongs, to having to team with Snookie. Way to kill a character WWE. Sure that Snookie is popular and you want to playoff from that popularity but not by sacrificing one of your talents. Prediction: Morrison's team will win this match. Both him and Ziggler will hit some great moves to keep the match interesting, but other than that not worth watching. Second match: Rey Mysterio vs Cody Rhodes. What has happened to the Legacy. They could have been great tag team champions, something that the WWE is serious lacking. Instead the WWE decided to split the tag team up and have them go their separate ways. Ted Dibiase you hardly ever hear from on raw and Cody Rhodes hasn't had much success on Smackdown. However, this match for Rhodes could turn into a blessing if WWE plays it right. Rey Mysterio has done just about everything in the WWE. He is a fan favorite, but by having Rhodes defeat him clean would be a big help to Rhodes career. Rhodes is a very talent wrestler and is someone that you are going to be talking about in the future. Sooner rather than later. Prediction: Rhodes defeats Mysterio giving his career back on track and a push in the right direction. Third match: Michael Cole vs Jerry Lawler. To be honest, this match almost makes me not want to order Wrestlemania. The only thing worth seeing in this match is Stone Cold Steve Austin as the guest referee. Michael Cole's gimmick is just awful and has gone on way too long. You can hardly stand listening to him anymore, but the last thing I want to see is him wrestle. The same goes for Jerry Lawler. He had a great career as a wrestler but your an announcer now so announce. I understand that it has always been a dream of yours to wrestle at Wrestlemania, but I am pretty sure in that dream of yours your opponent wasn't Michael Cole. The person I feel bad for is the All American-American Jack Swagger. Last year Swagger won the Money In The Bank Ladder match to become the number one contender and then won the title. My how much has he fallen in just a year. The only way he can get on the card is to be Michael Cole's trainer. Why is there no Money In The Bank ladder match this year. I'm sure if you ask Swagger, Morrison and Ziggler they would rather be in that match then in their current roles. What happens after this match. Does Cole's gimmick end? Are they just going to announce like nothing happened? Prediction: Lawler wins capturing his dream. Stone Cold stuns everybody, hopefully Lawler as well. Fourth Match: Randy Orton vs CM Punk. This match will be great. Could very well steal the show. Both Orton and Punk are phenomenal talents. Nobody in the business plays his character better than Orton. The guy looks like he is going to snap any second and kill everybody. Punk is the best heel in the business and is also one of the better wrestlers with mic skills. The story line leading up to Wrestlemania has been great. Punk costing Orton the title and Orton coming for revenge by destroying every member of Nexus until he can get his hands on Punk. I can't wait for this match. Prediction: It is hard to pick a winner in this one. WWE can't go wrong with this one. If Orton wins he gets his revenge and can concentrate on getting the title back. If Punk wins he can get a push for the title or they could keep this feud running for a while. I am choosing Punk to win because I would love to see this feud continue. Fifth match. US Title Match Sheamus(c) vs Daniel Bryan. Sheamus is another wrestler who reached the top way to fast and when he lost the title the WWE didn't know what to do with him. Last year he was wrestling HHH at Wrestlemania and proving that he could hold his own with the top talents. He has been on a losing streak which just recently ended by defeating his opponent Daniel Bryan for the US Title. I don't see the WWE giving the title to Sheamus and then having him lose the title three weeks later at Wrestlemania. I think that the WWE is going to start pushing Sheamus again so I look for him to hold on to this title for a little while. Prediction: Sheamus over Bryan to retain the US Title. Match will be a good one to watch. Sixth Match: The Undertaker vs HHH. I don't know why the WWE put this match as a no holds barred. This match would be much better as a Hell in a Cell match. Both of them has made their careers by wrestling in hell in a cell. The streak is at 18-0 and HHH is only wrestling in this match to end his career. I know that this isn't a streak vs career but HHH doesn't have many more matches left in him and their is a nice office job waiting for him. The fact that these two superstars are facing each other makes it great. Throw in a stipulation like no holds barred and it only magnifies the match. Prediction: The streak continues 19-0. Nobody should ever beat the Undertaker at Wrestlemania. This is his Pay-Per-View. If someone does beat him it should be someone that the WWE is trying to make into a star. Not someone who is already established. Seventh Match: World Heavyweight Title Match Edge(c) vs Alberto Del Rio. This match is missing one key component. And that is Christian. There is a rumor that I read on wrestlezone.com that he is about to be added to the match to make it a three way. I hope that it happens that way. This match will be awesome with the three of them in it. The story line leading up to Wrestlemania has played out that way, so all signs are saying it will become a three way match. Lets look at it as a three way match. I don't see Edge retaining the title. Christian deserves, for some time now, a long title run. He is a great talent. Top five in the business with his mic skills. Going to Total Nonstop Action (TNA) and becoming a multiple time champion proved that he can be a face of the company. Unfortunately, I think going to TNA hurt him in the long run. Vince McMahon was mad that he left and when he returned made Christian work his way through ECW and climb up the ladder. This is the year of Christian and I expect big things out of him this year. But lets say that Del Rio wins. You can have Edge blame Christian for him losing the belt and start a feud with them two. Which would be great. Having two former partners of what many consider, including myself, one of the best tag teams ever going at each other. It would give Christian a big boost in his career and then when his feud is over he goes after Del Rio and the title. Prediction: If the match is made a three way Christian wins the title. If not Edge will lose because Christian will cost him the match. Eighth match: WWE Championship Match The Miz(c) vs John Cena. It happens every Wrestlemania, like clock work. John Cena will win the title. Although this year he will get some unexpected help. I believe that the Rock will cost the Miz the title. All three of these guys have been having a battle of words. And if the Miz and the Rock weren't going to hook up what would be the point of them talking smack on each other. We all want to see the Rock and Cena go at it. But if WWE is smart they will have the Rock wrestle the Miz first. Rock gets back into ring shape get the rust of him. It helps the Miz's career knowing that he can compete with any superstar. Meanwhile, Cena hangs onto the title wrestling vary opponents until we come to the second biggest pay per view Summerslam, headlined by The Rock vs Cena for the WWE Title. If you take the Rock at his word, he says he is never leaving. To me that means he is going to wrestle again. Maybe not at a full schedule like he use to, but still he is going to wrestle. If he doesn't wrestle and does leave after only a few months, then Cena was right and he is just a phony who is all talk. Prediction: Cena wins. It should be great Wrestlemania as always. Can't wait for it
